Live event venues do not run on bands and audiences alone. They are built by people who care about community, safety, and creating spaces where everyone feels welcome.
So we are looking for Designated Event Officers aged 18 and over to help support our 14+ live events at The Studio Hartlepool. If you want to play a part in keeping grassroots music/events alive while helping event-goers feel safe and supported, this could be for you.
What the role involves
Designated Event Officers support the duty team in delivering smooth, safe live music nights. You will work alongside Trustees and volunteers to help keep the venue organised, calm, and welcoming for everyone attending.
The role includes:
Supporting entry, arrival, and the general flow of events
Helping maintain a safe and respectful environment
Being a visible and approachable point of contact during events
Supporting basic incident reporting if needed
Training with our designated Safeguarding Lead
You will not be expected to do this alone. Training and support are provided before you take on responsibility.

What you get from volunteering
We genuinely value our volunteers and want joining the team to feel straightforward and worthwhile.
As a Designated Event Officer, you will receive:
Expenses covered to help with your costs
A free DBS check if required
Certified safeguarding training provided by us
Hands on experience in event operations and venue management at a grassroots music and events venue.
Safeguarding and how we work
As a 14+ venue, safeguarding is central to how we operate. While this role is not classed as regulated activity in law, we choose to work to best practice at all times.
This means:
A Trustee is always appointed as Safeguarding Lead at events
Under 18s are never left alone with a single adult
You are fully trained and supported before your first shift
Our aim is to create a space where young people, artists, audiences, and volunteers all feel safe and respected.
