Who we are:
Hartlepool Community Studio known as The Studio, is a cultural hub for Hartlepool, bringing together music, the arts and communities. First formed in 1998, it is a not-for-profit Charity and Public Limited Company which has been run solely by volunteers since October 2014.
Mission
To promote, maintain and advance the education of the public in the appreciation and practice of music and the arts.
Vision
To create a safe space for our local community to Perform, Rehearse and Record music whilst supporting community groups and valuable services to promote health and well-being among disadvantaged people.
Who we are looking for:
We are seeking new Trustees to join our Board, to contribute knowledge, skills and innovative thinking to drive the organisation through the next stages of growth and development.
The Studio is celebrating 25 years of providing support to local musicians through our recording studios, rehearsal rooms and performance space.
We have big plans to support sustained growth over the next 25 years, securing the space for future generations.
The Board is responsible for the strategic direction, accountability of the organisation, as well as risk management, quality and performance monitoring. Trustees are expected to challenge and contribute to the development of the organisation and ensure financial controls and governance systems are robust, transparent and compliant with regulation.
We are specifically seeking trustees with experience of Facilities Management, Event Organisation, Funding and Bid Management and Charity Governance

• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Have a proven ability to build and maintain strong and productive relationships

Time Commitment
Trustees should be able to commit to, when possible, attending 4 Board meetings and 4 Board seminars per year. In addition, Trustees are expected to attend any Committees they are allocated to which are held on a quarterly basis.
The total time commitment for a Trustee is equivalent to 1 working day per month (approx.) including Board and Committee meetings which are held in the early evening.
Trustees are also encouraged and will have the opportunity to take part in ambassadorial activities and events.
This is a voluntary, unpaid role.
