Andrew Cushin, the rising star from Newcastle, is set to grace The Studio Hartlepool stage on June 29th, hot off the heels of his North American tour. At just 23 years old, Cushin is already making waves in the music scene with his debut album "Waiting for the Rain", which features none other than Noel Gallagher producing and playing guitar on the track 'Where’s My Family Gone'.
When icons like Noel Gallagher and Pete Doherty recognise talent, it's a sign to sit up and pay attention. Gallagher not only lauds the young Geordie but also lent his expertise to produce and play on one of Cushin's tracks. Doherty, similarly impressed, signed Cushin to his Strap Originals label and invited him to tour with The Libertines.
Cushin's music resonates with audiences due to its astute observations and honest reflections on life's challenges. Despite grappling with weighty social issues, his songs exude a palpable sense of hope. Hailing from Newcastle and recently selling out 2 nights at O2 Newcastle, Cushin is embraced by the North East as one of their own, a testament to his roots and authenticity.
Karen Martin trustee said, “Whilst Andrew will be performing at many larger venues around the UK this summer, seeing him at The Studio will be a truly intimate event and we are looking forward to bringing such a huge talent to the town.”
